When I find a website that talks to the world but only provides for the USA, it drives me crazy.

The main offender is forms. I know it can be complex, but to add a state that says “Outside the USA” is not hard, and I feel that they don’t do it because they don’t think about it.

The biggest offender I found recently was the web site of Nobel Laureate Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth. Check out this form.

Global site.
Global issue.
But only US states.

OK, this one might be linked back to data on each state, but again, it’s a real let down that a well developed, well backed website doesn’t think outside the border.

That’s my new mantra:

“Think outside the border”
