Email Newsletters Versus Blogs

Email Vs Blogs

The other day I whipped Mike Arrington an email about Flickr’s 2 Billionth photo upload. He rewarded my frisbee throw with a link on the TechCrunch post. I got a few visitors to this young blog.

Then yesterday, during a wonderful Reply All War I did a quick blog post and sent it to the Reply All list.

I got a lot more double the traffic with the Reply All War. Taking some out for flow on traffic from TechCrunch (maybe 20) it is still a lot more.

What does it say:
- TechCrunch is great, but links on there don’t mean instant gold.
- Email and newsletters are still the best way to get to a targeted audience.

Here are my stats. (OK, OK, it’s a very very young blog…)
