Hey, anyone keen to do a flashmob in Sydney like they did at Grand Central in New York?

See video here…

Basically we all arrange to freeze for five minutes at exactly the same time and then unfreeze at exactly the same time.

Pitt Street Mall would be cool.

Or Town Hall?

Or Opera House?

I’m serious about doing this, so let me know if you’re keen.

The Improv Everywhere Global group has a grand total of 12 members… I reckon we could rustle up a few more than that!

I meant the group for Sydney

haha I saw the freeze! on youtube from new york and I thought…’I bet people from Sydney will want to do this’…and typed in freeze sydney…and sure enough this blog came up.

ahhhh…….so typical and predictable. Seriously Sydeny people, why don’t you just move to new york. i mean it’s only a grand or so and you can get E3 visas now days that help you live and work there.

I mean you are all so wanna be new york people. Sydney is a small city on world scale. YOU ARE NOT NEW YORK !!!!! or even close. You still drive your v8 utes up the main streets of the city and Hyde park is a carpark in new york. I have been there twice and it is for Americans. If you are australian then do australian things. if you wanna be american go live there ! It’s not that expensive, but stop following everything they do. It’s embarrassing for the rest of us aussies and it makes the world laugh at how try-hard american we are.

We have our own behaviours and identity (as sad as it is) and americans have theirs. We don’t have or want to be little brother to america. “look what new york is doing..if we do that we will be cool, international and artistic too” - fuck off.

If australia wasn’t so far from anywhere else in the world we wouldn’t have sydney in the main global city list. The only reason sydney is on there is because there are no real 1st world international cities south of the equator. Sydney happens to be slightly bigger than any of the others so they thought they had better throw sydney in the newyork, paris, tokyo list just to try and balance the hemispheres on the list.

you try-hards are sooo embarrassing to the rest of us aussies. go buy a one way ticket to NY and fuck off.

Um, yeah, thanks for your really valuable input ‘wannabe’.

Based on your language and the fact that you didn’t even put your name next to this, says a lot about you.

And I’m pretty sure you’re the one embarrassing the rest of us Aussies.

and ps to wannabe - you’re a cockhead - this isnt about copying NYC (which werent the first people to do flashmobs, it was a UK invention, duh!), its about incorporating art into real life - in short, you have NO idea
