Socialthing Video Review

March 11th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Quick review tonight of Socialthing. It basically pulls in a lot of feeds (Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, Digg, Youtube, Delicious) and let’s you interact as much as possible. Like Friendfeed, but apparently even easier. These guys would benefit from a little widget to let me plug a micro version on my blog?

In testing, I had a bunch of problems first run though…

And then I got it working.

You can Twitter from it, but otherwise it’s a personal portal. OK, but still not getting added onto my bookmark bar to be daily use. And you know what, I’m not sure I want aggregation anyway. I like roaming around. Sure, give me something mega good in one place that is better than all of their individual flavours, but don’t just aggregate.

Mick, sorry to see all of the problems that you had after signup, we’ve been having some issues with some of the services unfortunately, and we’re in the process fixing them.

We’ve got a whole litany of features and services that we’re adding in the next couple of weeks, so we’re really looking forward to getting those out to people.

If you have any suggestions at all for us, beyond that of the video, feel free to email us feedback AT socialthing DOT com

No problems Matt. I certainly know how it is tough to start with. Keep plugging away at it. I’ll have another review soon.

I have to say that Friendfeed is getting a lot of oomph lately so I’d get movin.
