Sydney Shared Office Space

July 3rd, 2008 · 7 Comments

So I hired a professional firm to do a floor plan of the office space at 1 Barrack St, Sydney, and here tis;

Barrack St 3D Model (by bigmick)

What do you think? 10k well spent.

Anyway, combined with the pics (see below) you can get the idea.

We had a meetup there today with a bunch of people interested in the space.

Some of the tire-kickers;

So now we just have to negotiate hard, crunch the numbers and see if we can pull it off.

If you’re keen, please get in touch.

Very excited.

P.S. Rumour has it that Jodie is the world champion of getting stuff done in Sydney,. including kicking tradesmens arses. You rock Jodie!

    Hi Mick
    Yep, having worked in Commerical Interior Fitout for a number of years I can give you some good contacts to get a reasonably priced fitout done - including some good plans for less than $10k :-). The best option is to use recycled workstations or there are some very reasonably priced imported workstations also.
    Depending on if you are going fully wireless or want to provide some wired data cabling, the Electrical and Data can be one of the major costs of even a small fitout.
    It’s good to do as little as possible also, to help with the cost of Make Good at the end of the lease.
    So when you are ready to get going, let me know and I will put you in touch with the right people to chat to.

    Oops, obviously I did not look at the pics of the new space first… looks like you already have workstations… you may not need much at all to get up and running… but get in touch anyway, as I may be able to help.

    Yeah, the space was great. I’m sure this is going to be a totally cool vibe place!

    So if it was at Riley St, Darlinghurst, would people be put off?

    I definitely left Barrack St on a high the other evening (and was higher still when I left the pub…)

    Excited about the potential to share workspace with so many interesting people and give/get good guidance as well as just share power/water/air.

    Very interested to see the first take on the numbers, once crunched, but I want to help make it work.
