Hey everyone, quick update on what’s going on.
We have been looking at two sites, one in the city and one in Riley St Darlinghurst. The city one is turning out to be too expensive and too big. Big is great if we can fill it but it puts a lot of pressure of the leasor if every thing goes rotten pear shaped.
Riley St is a better size and price, but it’s probably not available until September.
We’re working on it as fast as we can, but we don’t want to rush into it.

I am still interested. The September time frame could work well for me - please do keep me in the loop.
Either Surrey Hills (slightly better) or Darlinghurst (certainly workable) would be good for me.

Sounds cool. I’d be interested in dropping in on the weekends or after hours to work on some projects and tap into the energy and networking.

Hey Mick - do you only want full-timers, or will there also be some kind of hot-desk arrangement for blow-ins? :)

Glad to see it’s coming along! I’ve got a quick question: on the co-working wiki you mention price ideas - $10 a day or $350 a month for a permanent desk.
Shouldn’t the feeling be “I’ll book a month ’cause I get a better deal?” It’d be cheaper to rent a desk daily every day for a month than to book a permanent desk, so, seen purely financially, what’d be the motivation to book a month?

Matt, pricing is still being worked out, but it’s more like going to be $600 a desk per month for permanent space.
The $10 is for a once a month drop in. It’s small so that if you’re only around for a few hours, you still want to drop in. You might only get the couch and lunch table though.
If you want to come more regularly, we’re thinking of having a $200 for up to 10 visits or $200 for a 10 visit pass. Once again, you aren’t guarenteed a seat and it’s certainly not your permanent space.
The $600 is for people who actually want to make it their office.
Any thoughts?

Aha, gotcha. Makes sense.
Just checking out the similar but somewhat different model of Citizen Space: free drop-ins (who are essentially on “trial” for a time), Coworking Lite for $250/month and residents for $350. Pricing must of course vary based on rent, but the free drop-in thing sounds like a good way to convert “interested” into “involved.”
